鋸山の日本寺 Nihonji temple in Nokorigi mountain

今年のお盆は、帰省も諦め、長期の旅行も自粛ですが、近県ならと磨崖大仏や地獄のぞきなどで有名な鋸山の日本寺に行ってきました。

Since it is not recommended to plan long travel or returning to home-town in this summer “obon” vacation season, my family had a one-day trip to Nihonji temple in Nokorigi mountain in Chiba pref. next to Tokyo.

林の中に点在する磨崖仏や羅漢を見て回り、断崖上の絶景を楽しんできました。木々の間や絶壁の上を吹き上げる風は少しだけ涼しくて心地良かったですが、結構な石段の連続で汗だくになってしまいました。

 This mountain is famous of big Buddha image on a cliff and "Jigoku Nozoki" (Hell Lookout) jotted from the cliff. My family and I strolled through forest and peak on the cliff by watching stone Buddhist statue, carved Arhat sculptures and wonderful view. Although blowing wind in forest and on the cliff is a little bit cooler than seaside, hard route on long steps and hot temperature made us soaked in sweat.

日帰りの短い旅でしたが、房総の新鮮な海産物を楽しみ帰り道の海ほたるで夕暮れの富士山も見られて充実した一日でした。

Even in short trip, my family really enjoyed wonderful scene, tasty seafoods and beautiful sunset view of Mt. Fuji from artificial Umihotaru island on our way back to our home.

殿ヶ谷庭園を散歩してきました I visited Tonogayako garden

暑い日が続きますが、国分寺駅のすぐそばにある殿ヶ谷庭園を散歩してきました。ここは多摩川が武蔵野台地を削ってできた自然の地形、国分寺崖線の谷を巧みに利用した「回遊式林泉庭園」です。

I visited Tonogayako garden near Kokubunnji station. The garden is located on the southern edge of the Kokubunji rift line. The natural flora in the Musashi plateau and the cliff-like rift area are well protected.

崖下の「次郎弁天の清水」を源とする湧水池を見下す四阿で、蝉時雨や鹿威しの音を聞き都会の喧騒を忘れれば少しは暑さも和らぎます。

When I overlooked Jiro Benten Pond from a bower on the cliff listening songs of cicada and sound of “shishiodoshi”; water filled bamboo clacking against rock, I was able to forget noisy urban sound and scorching heat.

可憐なレンゲショウマや咲き始めた秋の七草なども見て散策していると何十年ぶりかにタマムシも見つけ少し童心に戻ることができました。

Agrimonia pilosa var. japonica/ Hairy agrimony/ キンミズヒキ

As I walked around by watching summer or autumn flower such as false anemone, bush clover or patrinia, I found a jewel beetle. I haven’t seen this beetle more than several decades, I can remember childhood days.
