皇居見学ツアーに行ってきました The Imperial Palace visiting tour

皇居見学に行ってきました。江戸城開城の後に皇居となり明治以降の建築物と混在する皇居は色々と見どころがあります。

The Imperial Palace, former Edo castle where Tokugawa shoguns lived in. In the palace, it can be found mixture of buildings or construction built after Meiji Restoration as well as built in Edo period.

旧枢密院、宮内庁庁舎を過ぎて新年一般参賀などでもお馴染みの長和殿東庭になります。

 After passed by buildings of the former Privy Council, Imperial household agency, I entered into the east plaza in front of Chowaden Hall of the Kyuden (Imperial palace), where many public greetings such as New Year’s Day or Emperor’s birthday are celebrated.

正門鉄橋（二重橋）から見た正門石橋。 After enjoying views of the Stone bridge from the Iron bridge of main gate, 

振り返ると石垣と土塁の組み合わせの深い堀の上に京都の伏見城から移築されたと伝えられる伏見櫓。

we can watch beautiful Fushimi yagura (keep) is said relocated from Fushimi castle in Kyoto, standing on combination of stone walls and soil mound against deep moat.

そして明暦の大火以来再建されなかった天守閣に代わり、その役割も果たした富士見櫓。丸の内のビル街は皇居に面した面は一切広告がないので、従順な意を表した家来のようにも見えます。

 Fujimi yagura (keep) which had important role after the main castle tower was burned down by the great fire of Meireki in 1657 and never rebuilt. Since the buildings facing the Imperial palace are prohibited to show any advertisement, buildings look like obeying to the Fushimi yagura.

神代植物公園で木の勉強をしてきました。I have learned on trees in Jindai Botanical Gardens

梅雨の合間に神代植物公園に行ってきました。薔薇も紫陽花も綺麗ですが、今回は森に入って少し木の勉強をしてきました。

Today, I went to Jindai Botanical Gardens. In the garden, many flowers such as rose or hydrangea were very attractive, but I entered into the forest today for learning trees.

花を見分けるのは少し自信がありますが、花の咲いていない木を、葉や樹形から見分け、日本語と英名を確認するのはなかなかに大変です。

I have quite confidence to identify flowers however I tried to identify trees without flowers by recognizing shape of leaf, figure of whole tree, and so on, then reconfirm Japanese name and English name of trees.

それでも青葉の森は少しひんやりとしていて、小鳥の囀りが響き気持ちが良かったです。

It was a little of tough form me, but in the fresh green forest, cool air was so good and I could listen songs of birds in the forests.

江戸東京博物館で江戸・東京の歴史と文化を学んできました。I learned history and culture from Edo to Tokyo at Edo-Tokyo Museum

両国の江戸東京博物館に行ってきました。この博物館では実物大や縮小した模型やパネルなどで江戸の暮らしなどが詳しく興味深く紹介されていていくら時間があっても足りなかったです。

I learned history and culture from Edo to Tokyo at Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
In the museum, real lives in Edo was exhibited in detail and interestingly by replicas, scale models and panels, so I wished I would have more hours to watch.

体験型の展示はまだ触れられず、再開直後で入館者もすくなくガラガラでしたが、その分ゆっくり展示物をみられました。新型コロナの自粛解除後こうした屋内の施設も少しずつ再開されて東京もすこしずつ普段の暮らしに戻りつつあるのが嬉しいです。

 As the museum was in a few days after reopened, there were few visitors, I could watch them smoothly. I am very happy to know such indoor facilities have been reopened after the lift of emergency declaration by the COVID19, and usual life in Tokyo is becoming.

昭和記念公園に行ってきました。I visited Syowa kinen park

家族と運動不足解消も兼ねて昭和記念公園に行ってきました。３０度近くまで気温が上がる暑い日でしたが、花菖蒲の水辺や欅の木陰は気持ちが良かったです。

Iris ensata var. ensata/ Japanese iris/ Hanasyoubu ハナショウブ

Zelkova serrata/ Japanese elm/ Keyaki ケヤキ

I visited Syowa kinen park with my family for light exercising for out of shapes. It was a little bit hot nearly 30 degrees Celsius, but wind from pond of Japanese Iris, Iris ensata, or under the shade of big Keyaki (Zelkova) was quite good. 

隣接する昭和天皇記念館にも今回初めて行ってみました。昭和天皇８７年のご生涯を改めて知ることができたうえ、来場者が私たち家族しかいなかったもあり、係の方が丁寧に説明していただき、御料車の隠れた秘話なども聞かせていただきました。

Then we visited the Emperor Show Memorial Museum next to the park first time. I was very impressed by the exhibits showing 87year history of the Emperor. And we were so lucky as no other visitors in there and a staff was so kindly explained in details one by one including a secret story of the car for the Imperial family.

開園された新宿御苑に行ってきました。I have visited reopened Shinjuku Gyoen garden

緊急事態宣言の解除を受けて再開園された新宿御苑に行ってきました。閉園中もきちんと手入れがされていた園内は気持ちよく、バラ園のバラは少し盛りをすぎていましたが、まだ十分楽しめました。

 

品種：イングリッドバーグマン　Ingrid Bergman

I visited Shinjuku gyoen garden yesterday at the day of reopen after the lift of emergency declaration. I was very relaxed in the garden well maintained even during closed period. Roses in the rose garden, little bit passed the best season, can still enjoy me to admire these beauties enough.

温室はまだ閉鎖中でしたが、まもなくオープンされるそうです。

The greenhous has not been opened, but it will beopened soon, too.

休園中に期限がきた年間パスポートは休園期間分は延長してもらえたのでまだ暫くは更新しなくて大丈夫でした。緊急事態の解除後、感染者が増加しているのを受けて東京アラートが発せられましたが、こういうオープンスペースの閉園はしてほしくないですね。

My annual passport expired during the closed period has been prolonged 2 months more so I was able to enter without updating. Reflecting increase of infected person after the lift of declaration, a “Tokyo alert” was issued last night, but I hope such open space should not be closed again.
