歌舞伎町の侍ミュージアム Samurai Museum in Kabukicyo Shinjyu

歌舞伎町の真ん中にあって、外国人観光客に有名で日本人にほとんど知られていない場所です。お客さんは私たち以外は全て外国人で、刀や鎧兜などの館内展示物や殺陣のショーの解説も英語のみで、外国人観光客の気分で日本を紹介される気持ちになれます。

This museum is located center of Kabukicyo Shinjyu and very popular to tourists from foreign countries but little known to Japanese. Guide tours for exhibition such as swords or armors or announce of Sword Performance show is spoken only in English, no Japanese guests. So it is a place to feel as foreign tourists in middle of Tokyo.

大嘗宮に行ってきました I have visited Daijokyu Hall in Imperial palace

11月14、15日に大嘗祭が行われた皇居東御苑の大嘗宮と乾通りの一般公開に行ってきました。天皇陛下即位後、一度だけ行われる大嘗祭のためだけに建てられる大嘗宮。黒木造りと言われる唐松などの皮付きの丸太で作られた宮殿はいにしえの日本の姿を思わせる質素ながら荘厳な建物でした。丁度見ごろの紅葉や冬桜とともに楽しむことができました。

I visited Daijokyu Halls where Daijosai (Great Thanksgiving Ceremony) was held in 14-15 November 2019. The Daijosai is a ceremony after the enthronement, in which the Emperor offers newly-harvested rice to the Imperial Ancestor and to the deities of heaven and earth, and it was held only once held by one Emperor during a his throne (Thanksgiving Ceremony is held every year).The halls are build by unbarked lumber of larch in traditional ancient manner. I was fascinated by the chic but solemn atmospher of buildings and beauty of autumn foliege in the garden.

紅葉の六義園と旧古河庭園 Autumn foliage in Rikugien and Kyu-Furukawa garden

紅葉が綺麗になってきたので、20年以上前に住んだことのある、駒込近辺の二庭園を訪ねてきました。

Autumn foliage in Tokyo becomes good time, so I visited two famous garden in Komagome area where I used to live almost 20 years ago.

 
まずは、回遊式築山泉水庭園の名園、六義園で池に映える紅葉をはじめ、園内随所の紅葉を楽しみました。

The first garden was Rikugien, famous garden of strolling around pond style. I have enjoyed autumn foliage on a pond or many tree in the garden.

それから丘の上の洋館と斜面の洋風庭園、そして低地に日本庭園が配された和洋折衷の名園旧古河庭園へ。
Then I visited Kyu-Furukawa garden, famous of well combination of western-style mansion and garden on a hill, and Japanese garden in lower land.

秋薔薇もまだ少し残っていて、和と洋の背景に映る紅葉と薔薇を楽しんできました。
I could enjoy remaining autumn roses and autumn leaves with backdrops of Japanese and western style garden.
