京王百草園に梅見に行ってきました。 I visited Keio-Mogusaen for watching Ume, Japanese apricot.

高校時代の友人たちとミニ同窓会を兼ね、梅見に行ってきました。今年は開花が少し遅い上に多摩丘陵は都心よりも寒いようで見頃より少し早かったようですが、きれいな花たちに心癒されてきました。

Prunus mume/ Japanese apricot/ ウメ　梅 品種：ギョクコウ　玉光

I visited Keio-Mogusaen for watching Ume, Japanese apricot with some friends in high-school days. This year is colder than usual year and this garden is located on a hill-top cooler than downtown, but still beauty enough to save my mind.

Chimonanthus praecox/ Japanese allspice/ ロウバイ（ソシンロウバイ）

蝋梅も都心より少し遅いのか、ちょうど見頃のころでした。Japanese allspice is just good time to watch since this flower in here is later than same in downtown.

Petasites japonicus/ Butterbur/ フキ　蕗

Adonis ramosa/ Far East Amur adonis/ フクジュソウ　福寿草

蕗の薹や福寿草の花はやはり春を感じさせてくれます。Flowers of Far East Amur adonis and Butterbur are telling us spring is near.

寒咲菖蒲（カンザキアヤメ）の薄い青色も綺麗です。Beauty of blue petals of Algerian iris.

山茱萸（サンシュユ）の花が咲き始めました。/ Cornelian cherries begin to bloom

まだまだ寒い日が続きますが、山茱萸（サンシュユ）の花が咲き始めました。
Blossoms of Cornelian cherries begin to open.

花は米粒ほどの大きさですが、春がそこまで来ていることを教えてくれるのに十分の大きさです。
Even yellow flower is very tiny like rice, but it is big enough fell me that spring is coming near by

世界らん展、行ってきました/ Japan Grand Prix, International Orchid Festival in Tokyo dome

東京ドームで開催中の世界らん展に行ってきました。いろんな種類の蘭と、その見事さに圧倒されました。蘭を育てる人は本当にすごいですね。

I visited a Japan Grand Prix, International Orchid Festival in Tokyo dome. Tremendous kind of orchids and breathtaking beauty of them make me feel like living in paradise. I really respect all growers to make such beautiful flowers.

旅の終わりはマニラで/ Philippine cuisine in Manila at the end of this trip

５日間で３カ国という過密スケジュールの今回の旅も終わりに近づきました。
今日は昼も夜もフィリピン料理です。昼はシニガンスープ、タマリンドの酸味のスープとチキンバーガー。

My trip in ASEAN countries, 3 countries in 5days such a hard schedule, is nearly end, I took a lunch and a dinner in Pilipino restaurants.
At lunch a pork sinigang, sour tamarind soup, and chicken burger.

夜はカレカレというオックステールスープとピナクベットという野菜炒めです。
And then at dinner, Kare-Kare, ox tale and tripe peanut soup, and Pinakbet, fried vegetables and grilled chicken, and needless say Pilipino beer!

定番 タイ料理/ Thai cuisine, I enjoyed in my short stay

バンコクでのディナーは、定番のトムヤンクン、ソムタム、プーパッポンカレーと続きますが、やはりビールがあると食も進みますね。

Only one-night stay in Bangkok, I enjoyed Thai cuisine that I missed. We ordered Tom yum goong, Som Tam and Poo Pad Pong Curry, all typical popular Thai dishes.

そして、次の日は駆け足で仕事を終えて、空港へ。遅いランチは、やはり定番の、カオマンガイ、トドマングン（エビすり身のフライ）、空芯菜の炒め物。１泊２日のバンコク滞在でしたが、定番のタイ料理を楽しんで、次の目的地マニラへ。

After the meeting, I took a late-afternoon lunch, before leaving Manila at Suvarnabhumi Airport.　Khao Man Kai (Chicken and Rice), Todomankun (Deep fried minced shrimp) and Fried morning glory, also all popular Thai cuisine, I enjoyed.

バンコク、チャトチャック公園のバタフライガーデン/ Butterfly garden in Chatuchak Park, Bangkok

久々のバンコクです、３年ぶりくらいでしょうか。ホテルに着いて少し時間があったので、チャトチャック公園を散策。バタフライガーデンを訪ねてきました。
It was the first visit after three years, I enjoyed a walking in Chatuchak Park after arrival of the Hotel nearby. And I visited a Butterfly garden in this park.

熱帯の花が咲き乱れるバンコクですが、意外と蝶を見かけることは少ないです。このバタフライガーデンでは、熱帯の蝶を間近に見ることができます。
In Bangkok, there are many beautiful tropical flowers, however occasion of watching butterflies is not so frequent. In this butterfly garden, we can enjoy to watch butterfly from short distance.

アサギマダラの仲間でしょうか？　Can be familly of chestnut tiger butterfly?

こちらはカバマダラでしょうか？　This may be one of Danaus?

こちらもタテハチョウの仲間でしょうか？　Nymphalid?

実は本館は残念ながら工事中で、脇の温室？で少しだけ、蝶を見ることができました。
Unfortunately, a main pavilion was under-renovation, I entered a greenhouse nearby. So butterflies are not so much I could see.

入り口で名前を書くだけで、無料で見ることができます。また、チャトチャック公園にはクイーンシリキットパークと呼ばれる植物園も一画にあり、あわせて散策してきました。

After make register at the entrance, we can freely enter the greenhouse. And near the house, there are botanic garden named “H.M. Queen Sirikit Park” we can enjoy.

ブルネイの晩ご飯/ Dinner in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

ブルネイでの晩ご飯です。エビのサンバル炒め、チャーハン添えとKeropok Lekor（もちもちの薩摩揚げのようなもの）です。ビールがほしくなるのですがアルコールはないので、チンチャウ（仙草ゼリー）入り小麦若葉ジュースにしました。これはこれでおいしかったですが、やはりビールが欲しくなりますね。
I ordered a fried prawn by sambal sauce with fried rice, and Keropok Lekor, a kind of sticky fried fish sausages. Since in no alcohol drink is served, I ordered a glass of wheat grass juice with black grass jelly. I was not but I missed beer.

ブルネイに来ています。 I just visited a Brunei Darussalam

ブルネイはボルネオ島の小さな国で、日本からの直行便もなく、日本ではあまり知られていませんが、天然ガスなどの天然資源が豊富で豊かな国です。機会があり久しぶりに訪ねてきました。

Brunei Darussalam is a small country located on Borneo island and not well known in Japan since no direct flight. The country is known as rich natural resources including natural gas and rich country.

イスラム国で、あちらこちらに大きなモスクがありますが、熱帯の花が咲き乱れる綺麗な街です。

紅い満作（マンサク）/ Red witch-hazel

今まで、マンサクの花は黄色だけかと思っていましたが、こんな赤い花もあるのですね。
I was thinking witch-hazel might be only yellow flowers. But, it was a first time to find red witch-hazel.

品種名：ルビー・グロー Variety name Ruby Glow

神代植物公園の梅園の一画に色々なマンサクが見られる場所がありました。いくつかの園芸品種もあり、楽しんできました。
In Jindai botanical garden, many kind of witch hazel including garden varieties are planted in one corner of plum garden and I was able to enjoy many witch hazel.

品種名：ダイアナVariety name Dianna

品種名：オレンジビューティVariety name Orange beauty

品種名：モリスパリダVariety name Morris pallida

そして、シナマンサクも負けずに咲いていました。Also Chinese witch hazel was blooming.

外国人おもてなし語学ボランティア講座、受講しました。 I joined a seminar of English support volunteer for foreign visitors toward Tokyo Olympic Game 2020.

東京オリンピック、パラリンピックに向けて外国人観光客が増えています。東京都などでは、日本を訪れた外国人の方が町で困っているのを見かけたら、積極的に声をかける人を「外国人おもてなし語学ボランティア」として育成しようという取り組みを進めています。

Now, foreign visitors to Japan are increasing rapidly toward Tokyo Olympic/ Paralympic games 2020. Tokyo metropolitan government is now encouraging citizens to be voluntary “Omotenashi”supporters to troubled foreign visitors in Japan.

先週の日曜日、私も約３時間半の講義を受けて、ボランティアの登録をしてきました。講義では、困っている外国人を見かけた時の、声のかけ方などをグループディスカッションも交えて楽しく学んできました。これからは町で困った人を見かけたら、積極的に声をかけていきたいと思っています。
I joined a three and half hour seminar in which I leaned many tips for helping travelers by group roll-playing game and discussion. After the lesson, I was registered as a “volunteer English guide for foreign visitors”.

節分草と雪割一華 Eranthis pinnatifida and Anemone keiskeana

節分ということで、神代植物園の節分草（セツブンソウ)と雪割一華（ユキワリイチゲ）です。ふたつとも小さな花ですが、寒い中、先に花を咲かせて、生き延びる力強さもあります。
Yesterday was Setsubun, Japanese means a eve of new spring in old lunatic calendar. Setsubunsou, Eranthis pinnatifida has name of this day in Japanese name. Next flower is Yukiwari-ichige, Anemone keiskeana, Japanese meaning is one flower from under snow. Both flower is pretty and tiny but also strong .

雪の中 春を待つ花 Flowers waiting in falling snow

東京はまた雪でした。先週ほどひどくはならなくて良かったのですが、みぞれ交じりの雪の中、春に向けて咲き始めた花が震えながら咲いていました。
Tokyo again faling snow. It was not so serious than last week, but in falling snow, flowers just began blooming were shivering in the snow.
