ハノイ植物園 A Hanoi botanical garden

先日、ハノイに出張に行っ際に、市内のハノイ植物園に行ってきました。植物園といっても、あまり草本の花は植えられていなくて、立派な木の見本園のような感じです。

Just a few days ago, I visited a Hanoi botanical garden during my business trip. In the garden, I found few herbaceous flowers, instead, I found many big trees in there, therefore, it was like a forest garden.

四季のあるハノイの花木の見ごろは春、4月頃だそうで、この時期に咲いている花はあまり多くはないようです。
Hanoi has four seasons and spring, around April, seems best season for watching many beautiful tree flowers, and few flowers in summer.

Cassia Javanica/Rainbow Shower Tree /ジャワセンナ

そのなかで、マメ科のジャワセンナやモクセンナの花がかろうじて残っている感じです。
I found a few flowers belong to Fabaceae like a rainbow shower tree (Cassia Javanica) or a golden senna (Cassia surattensis) were still blooming.

同じマメ科のホウオウボクは高いところに少しだけ炎のような赤い花をつけていました。

Delonix regia/ Flame tree/ ホウオウボク A few burning red flowers of flame tree were blooming on a top of the tree.

「この木何の木、気になる木」で有名なモンキーポッド。立派な木ですが、合歓の木のような花はほんのわずかに残っている感じでした。

Albizia saman(Amanea saman)/ Monkey pod/ モンキーポッド

I found a very large tree of “monkey pod” but hard to find flowers on the tree.

日本では今の時期、サルスベリがきれいですが、こちらではオオバナサルスベリが綺麗な紫の花を咲かせていました。

As we can enjoy beauty of crape myrtle in Japan, I found beautiful purple of giant crape myrtle in the garden.

日本の温室でも人気のある、ウコンサンゴバナ(Lollipop plant)が、何気なく花壇で咲いているのは、やはり南国な感じです。

Pachystachys lutea/ Lollipop plant/ ウコンサンゴバナ

I found flowers of “Lollipop plant” in a flower bed in open air which is popular in a greenhouse in Japan.

そして、こちらも南国の花壇の定番、ヤナギバルエラソウ (Ruellia simplex) が紫の花を咲かせています。

Ruellia simplex (Ruellia brittoniana )/ Mexican petunia/ ヤナギバルエラソウ

Mexican petunia which is also popular in tropical area is showing purple flowers.

日差しはさほど強くなく、気温も30度くらいで東京と変わらない感じでしたが、湿度が高く、1時間も散策すれば、汗だくになってしまいましたが、ハノイ都心で森林浴ができ気持ちはリフレッシュできました。今度は春にまた訪ねて来たいですね。
In the garden, temperature was around 30-degrees-Celsius with not so strong sun lights, but very high humidity made me in a sweat, but refreshing my mind like strolling in forest. I would come again in spring best to see flower trees.

湯沢高原で涼を Enjoy cool air in Yuzawa highland

東京の暑さから逃れ、湯沢高原でしばしの涼を楽しんできました。とはいえ、本格的な山歩きなどではなく、ロープウエーで気軽に高原の空気を味わってきました。

I visited Yuzawa highland for escaping hot weather in Tokyo, I enjoyed staying in height using a rope-way without hard tracking.

天気はあまり良くなかったですが、気温もやや低くて、可憐な高山植物に癒されてきました。ここは冬にスキーを楽しんだこともありますが、夏にもこうして施設の有効利用をしているんですね。

高山植物の姿で少しだけ涼しい気分を味わってください。　
Please feel cool by seeing some flowers in highlands.

コマクサは少しピントがずれました。まだまだカメラの練習をしないとだめですね。
I understand I need to skiil-up my camera technique since picture of "Komakusa" wasnot well focused.

Dicentra peregrina/ コマクサ

The weather was not so good but enough to enjoy cool air and see many pretty flowers in highland. I had visited here for skiing but first time to know the facilities are used for visitors in such way.

そのあとは、近くの温泉併設の道の駅で車中泊でのんびりです。夜になると山の空気は涼しくて久々にエアコン無しで眠れました。

After visited the highland, I stayed in my car in a facility as “roadside-station” with a hot spring. I was able to sleep first time in a two or three weeks with cool natural wind without air-conditioning.

四天王寺in 大阪 Shitenoji temple in Osaka

先日、大阪に帰った際に、四天王寺に立ち寄ってきました。
I visited a Shitenoji temple when I returned to Osaka my home town.

実は、自分の母校の高校から徒歩圏内にありながら、高校時代には訪ねることもなく、またその後も機会がなく、本格的に訪ねたのは、多分初めてだと思います。

The temple is located in walking distance from my high school but I never visited in my school days and after graduated there almost 40 years.

聖徳太子の建立と言われ、日本でも有数の古い歴史を持つ寺ですが、同じ聖徳太子建立の法隆寺とは違って、主要な建物は、火災や戦災で何度も焼失してしまい、今の建物は戦後に再建されたものがほとんどのようです。

The temple is one of the oldest temple in Japan and said to be build by the Shyotoku price in 6th century. However contrast to Horyuji temple which was also built by Shoyotoku prince and the oldest wood building in the world, the Shitenoji temple was rebuilt several times after destroyed by natural disaster or wars continuously.

それでも、五重塔と金堂が一直線に並ぶ境内は、建築当時の雰囲気を今に伝えており、歴史を感じさせてくれます。

Even so, I was able to feel long history in the temple by watching some buildings including a Five story pagoda and a Golden pavilion.

また、金堂と五重塔の向こうには、もちろん高校時代にはなかったあべのハルカスがそびえ立っています。

Besides, I could see the tallest building in Japan, Abeno Harukas, was standing backdrop of these historic buildings. The Abeno Harukus was not there in my school days, of course.

四天王寺に行く前に、やはり立ち寄った大阪城もそうだったのですが、境内では日本人よりも外国人の観光客が目立ちました。暑い日でもあり、大阪や近所の人がわざわざ行く気にはならないのかもしれませんが（実は自分も高校生の時はそうだったのですが）、なんとなく寂しい気もしました。

For visiting the Shitenouji temple as well as Osaka castle, I found many many foreign tourists in there than Japanese visitors. I understand few Japanese, particularly living near there has no reason to visit there such on a hot day, like my school days. However I still feel some regrets or loneliness to see few Japanese were there.
