小さいけど品揃えの面白いコーヒー豆屋さんin 三軒茶屋/ A small but tremendous varieties coffee beans shop in Sangenjaya

三軒茶屋栄通りのはずれにあるRed cloverというコーヒー豆屋さん。小さくてちょっと入り難い感じもありますが、コーヒーに対する愛情がすごいオーナーが気さくに相手をしてくれるちょっと変わった素敵なお店です。近くまで行くと焙煎したコーヒーの匂いがいつも漂っているのですぐにわかります。

A coffee beans shop named “Red Clover” located at the end of Sakae street in Sangenjaya, as it looks small and you may be hesitate to go into the shop. However you can talk with a owner of the shop very frankly and you can find he is very enthusiastic to the coffee. I can smell good aroma whenever I pass by near the shop.

オーナーはアフリカや中南米へ気に入った豆を直接買い付けに行くだけでなく、ニクラグアに自家農園も持っている凄い人です。自分の好みや試してみたい味や香りを言うと、味や香りの特徴やお勧めの豆を教えてもらえます。豆が小瓶に分けてあるので、お店の割には種類が豊富で、カメルーンやルワンダといった変わった国のコーヒーもたくさんあります。

The owner of the shop not only visit African or Middle American countries for purchasing good quality directly but also own his farm in Nicaragua. When you tell him your favorite or interest of taste or smell, the owner will recommend or advice best kind of coffee according to his experience. As each bean is put in small bottle, many kind of beans are displayed in the small shop. You can find beans from unknown country like Cameroon or Rwanda.

自分で農場を持っていて世界中に豆の買い付けに行っているので、コーヒー農場や農夫の裏話やいろんな興味深い話を聴くことができます。ただ、オーナーが海外に良く出かけるので、その時は知り合いや家族の方がお留守番をされているようです。その時は、美味しい豆は買えるのですが、オーナーの面白い話はおあずけということになります。

He knows many topics of production or distribution system as well as regional specialty such as farming system or daily life of peasants, you can hear many interesting stories from him. However he often go outside Japan, sometimes you cannot see him in the shop however you can buy beans from his friends or family.

軽く「ふじてんスノーリゾート」で。/ One day skiing in “Fujiten Snow Resort”

この週末は、天気があまり良くないということなので、遠出せずに都内から２時間前後で気軽に行けるふじてんスノーリゾートに。少し早起きして９時前にはスキー場に。

As I heard weather in this weekend would not be so good by a weather report, I just visited one of the nearest ski-resort “Fujiten” where we can go around 2 hour drive from Tokyo. I arrived at there before 9 o'clock afetr I waked up a little bit earlier than as usual.

富士山はあまり見られませんでしたが、標高１２００ｍ前後のゲレンデは雪質もそこそこでした。スキーは早めに切り上げ、麓の日帰り温泉「ゆらり」でゆったりリラックス。今度は富士山が良く見える時に、また撮りなおしましょう。

Unfortunately, Mt Fuji could not been seen well but snow quality was quite good on the ground around 1200m altitude. After I finished skiing early afternoon and then I was relaxing at hot-spa facility named “Yurari” on the mount foot. I will try to take good shot of Mt. Fuji, may-be next time.

福岡の肉肉うどん/ Niku-niku (Beef-beef) Udon noodle in Fukuoka

先日、博多に出張に行って、懇親会の後にラーメンでも食べて帰ろうかと歩いていて、目に入ったのが、この肉肉うどんのお店。

After a causal party during duty travel to Hakata, Fukuoka, I was rambling downtown looking for Ramen restaurant for finishing dinner, but I found a small shop selling Niku-niku Udon (Udon noodle with boiled beef).

お店に入って、このうどんを注文すると「生姜は普通の量でいいですか？」と聞かれ、とりあえず「普通でお願いします」と答えて待つこと数分。出てきたのが、このうどん。濃い目のダシに柔かく煮込んだサイコロ状の肉（ほほ肉だそうです）がゴロゴロと入っていて、そこに刻みネギとおろしショウガがタップリ。

When I ordered a bowl of niku-niku udon, a waitress asked me “ is it OK, normal amount of grated ginger?”. After I replied yes and waited for a couple of minutes, I found udon noodles dipped in dark soup stock with simmered cubic cheek beef topped by amount of chopped scallions and grated ginger.

この冬一番の冷え込みで小雪も舞う中でしたが、このうどん一杯で体も温まり、喉の調子も幾分よくなったようです。ざく切り唐辛子を入れて辛くするとさらに体が温まりました。
後で調べると、このうどん、元々は小倉が発祥らしいのですが、今では博多でも結構有名なようです。

It was one of the coldest night in there with slight snow, but the noodle made me warm and my throat condition was improved by ginger. And one shake of roughly chopped dried hot pepper made me more warm. I found this shop is modestly popular as a casual noodle shop.

多摩川のどんど焼き/ Dondo bonfire on a river beach of Tama river near Hutako-Tamagawa

正月のしめ飾りなどを、小正月に燃やす「どんど焼き」、東京ではなかなか行うのが難しいと思っていたら、多摩川の河川敷の二子玉川緑地運動場で行われるというので、出かけて見ました。

Around mid-January, traditional dondo bonfire, burning New Year decorations, has been operated on the river beach of Tama river near Hutako-Tamagawa, although I was thinking it could be difficult to operate such things in a dense Tokyo metropolitan.

東急田園都市線の二子玉川の駅より少し上流の河川敷に、１０ｍもありそうなしめ飾りやわらが高く積まれ、１０時半過ぎに火が付けられ一気に燃え上がります。

On the river beach a little bit upstream from Hutako-tamagawa station on Tokyo denen-toshi line, around 10m height bonfire tower was built with bamboo and rice straw decoration and flamed up after fired on.

このどんど焼き、地元の鎌田南睦会という自治会の方の努力で続けられているそうで、一般の人のしめ飾りなども一緒に燃やしていただけるということで、我が家の小さなしめ飾りも一緒に燃やしてもらい、今年の無病息災を祈念しました。

The festival has been organized by the effort of a Kamato-minami residential association more than 25 years for keeping traditional festival and generously open to visitors to join to the ceremony. SO my family also pray our happiness and health for burning our tiny decoration.

なお、竹の先にもちをくくり付け、残り火でお餅を焼くこともできます。

After the bonfire ceremony, visitors can burn mochi (rice cake) by remaining fire with bamboo rod.

世田谷公園近くの小さくて素敵なチーズ屋さんLAMMAS/ LAMMAS, Petit but elegant cheese shop near Setagaya park

世田谷公園近くの三宿通りにあるチーズ専門店。数坪ほどの小さいお店ですが、フランス、イタリア、英国など個性豊かなチーズがどっさり。

LAMMAS, a small cheese shop on the Misyuku street near the Setagaya park, but you can buy here high quality cheeses from rich variety of selection from Europe like France, Italy and U.K.

若いけど経験と知識豊富なご夫婦で切り盛りしている素敵なお店です。パーティだとか料理の使いたいシチュエーションを伝えれば、お勧めや食べごろのチーズを親切に説明し、試食もさせていただけるので、好みにあったチーズを選ぶことができます。

This attractive shop is opened by young but rich experience and knowledge owner with his wife. You will be recommended best cheese when you explain your needs and situation like home party or formal dinner or dishes with serve. You can try some selected cheese recommended, so you can decide best cheese you want.

小さいお店なので、先客がいれば、少し待つこともありますが、お店の方と先客のやりとりを聞きながら、自分の順番を待つのも、また楽しいひと時です。

Since this shop is small, you need to wait if you have previous visitor. However it is also interesting time by listening conversation of shop owner and previous guests.

チーズの形によって、グラム単位だとか半分とかいったように必要な量を切ってもらうことができます。生ハムやサラミも有名なものが揃っていて、１００グラム単位でスライス してもらえます。

You can buy appropriate amount by weight or portion according to the shape of cheese, like 100g or half portion of the cheese. Also you can order some popular ham like prosciutto di Parma or salami by slicing 100g unit.

近くには美味しいパン屋さんも多いので、ここの美味しいチーズとパンとワインがあれば、それだけでも、楽しいひと時が過ごせます。

Near the cheese shop, there are some good bakery shops. I can enjoy good time with delicious breads, good wine and genuine cheese!

房総で海の幸を満喫/ Fully enjoying sea-food in Boso peninsula

前の記事に書きました鋸南のスイセンを見る前に、まずは同じ鋸南町の保田漁協直営食堂の「ばんや」で少し遅い朝ごはんを楽しみました。

I enjoyed a breakfast at a seafood restaurant named “Bannya” operated by Hota fisherman’s association in Kyonan town before watching narcissus in the same town that I wrote in the last article.

この「ばんや」、房総に行くとかなりの頻度で訪れています。今回は９時半の開店にあわせ９時ちょっと過ぎに到着。すでに何組かのお客さんがいましたが、受付用紙に名前を書いて待っていると９時１５分頃には席に案内され、本日のお勧めなどの中から注文品を決めて席で料理を待っていました。

I visit this restaurant almost all time when I go to Boso peninsula. I went to there around 9 o'clock before opening time of 9:30, since this restaurant is very popular and usually need to wait sizable tome. This time my family and I were able to sit on a table around 9:15 and select menu from recommended ones.

ここは漁師の料理というのが売りで、鮮度の良さと豪快な量が売り物です。たいがい頼みすぎて、一部は持ち帰ることになります。

This restaurant is famous as fisherman's style with very fresh and large amount of dishes. Always I ordered too much and need to carry back by doggie bags.

早春のスイセン/ Narcissus in early spring

東京の正月は穏やかな日が続いていますが、三が日の最後は、さらに春を感じるために房総まで足を伸ばしてみました。

In Tokyo, I am lucky to have calm and warm days in New year's holidays. And I visited Boso peninsula for feeling more spring breeze in there.

鋸南町は水仙の郷として知られていますが、その中の佐久間ダムに行ってきました。湖畔は風があり少し寒かったですが、湖畔に揺れる水仙が春を感じさせてくれます。

Kyonan town in the peninsula is known as villages of Bunch-flowered Narcissus, I went to Sakuma dam and lake in there. Although the lake side was a little bit cold by wind, I was able to feel spring breath by seeing narcissus swinging by the wind.

よく見ると、早咲きの梅も少し咲き始めています。

I found a few red blossoms of Japanese apricot behind narcissus.

ちょうど咲き始めの梅と水仙の写真をとることができ、一足先に春を感じることができました。

I was lucky to shoot pictures of narcissus with Japanese apricot in early spring.

今年の初詣/ The first visit to a temple and a shrine for praying family's happiness in 2016.

今年の初詣は元旦に果たすことができず、２日になりました。

I have made the first visit to a temple and a shrine for playing this year's fortune on 2nd of January instead of 1st of January since too busy in the 1st of January.

まずは彦根藩主井伊家の菩提寺の世田谷豪徳寺へ。２日の午後ということで、それほど混雑していなくて、ちょうどいい感じの混み具合です（不思議なもので、全く誰もいないと不安になります）。

I visited a temple named Gotoguji temple, a family temple of the Hikone Ii family, noble feudal lord in Edo era. Although the temple is poplar, it was not so crowded as it was the afternoon of 2nd day of a new year, it was just good for me as not so crowded or not so quiet.

境内の立派な三重塔が印象的です。

A magnificent three-story pagoda was very impressive.

その後、豪徳寺から小田急線で参宮橋で降りて、明治神宮へ。原宿や代々木から行くより、参宮橋からのほうが混雑が少ないとの情報どおり、結構スムーズに参拝することができました。家族そろって１年の安全を祈願できることが、何よりの幸せかもしれません。

And then, I went to a Sangubashi station from Gotoguji station by Odakyu line and went into the Meiji shrine. I had a information that fewer visitors was expected from Sangubashi st. than from Harajuku or Yoyogi station for visiting the shrine. And I could visit the shrine relatively smooth and it was late afternoon in 2nd day. I wonder it could be the most happy things as all family member can go to the shrine for praying this year's happiness together.

新年明けましておめでとうございます。A Happy new year 2016

正月の花といえば、やはり松でしょうか。今年も日本の四季を楽しみたいと思います。たまには常夏のバンコクも行って見たいですね。

I guess typical flower of New year, January can be a pine in Japan. I would like enjoy four seasons in Japan this year, too. And I wish visit tropical city Bangkok, again.
