外務省の早咲き桜/ Early blooming cherry varieties in front of Ministry of Foreign affairs
京でもソメイヨシノの開花が確認されたそうですが、見頃になるにはまだ一週間ほどがかかりそうです。と思っていたら、霞が関の外務省には、満開になっている少し早咲きの桜がありました。
I heard “somei-yoshino” a popular variety of sakura “cherry blossom” start blooming in Tokyo yesterday, but it could be around one week we need wait until it become full blooming. However I find two varieties are now peak of blossoms in front of the headquarters of Ministry of Foreign affairs in Kasumigaseki, heart of Tokyo.
少しピンクががった「陽光」という桜が、国会議事堂をバックに、満開を少し過ぎていました。この品種の誕生には色々なドラマがあったらしく、今、映画も作成されているそうです。
Pinkish flower named is blooming just a little bit past best time with backdrop of national Parliament building. I heard this variety has long and attractive history for breeding and this story will be shown “Youkou”in a movie in near future.
もう一つは、ソメイヨシノによく似た伊東桜という品種。外務大臣だった伊東正義が名前に縁のあるこの桜を伊豆の伊東から取り寄せて植えたのだとか。ソメイヨシノより１週間くらい咲き始め、今が丁度見頃です。隣のソメイヨシノが見頃になるまでしばらく目を楽しませてくれそうです。
The other variety is called “Ito” variety which was introduced from Ito city in Izu peninsula by a used-be Foreign Minister, H.E. Masayoshi Ito. It begin blooming about one-week earlier than popular “Somei-yoshino”, we can enjoy their beauty until next somei-yoshino become peak.

こんばんは。
春の訪れですね。私の関東旅行も桜にはまだ早すぎましたが、花桃というんでしょうか、沿線では濃いピンク色の花を目にすることができました。
もう1週間もすると、街も山も桜で彩られるのでしょうね。うらやましい限りです。

関東は、本当に今、日一日とその表情を変えて、毎日が楽しみです。
北国・雪国はもう少し辛抱でしょうか？
でもその分、北国の春は、押さえられたバネが弾けるようで、関東や暖地より素敵な表情を見せてくれるんだと思います。
