桜（ソメイヨシノ）が咲き始めました/ Cherry blossom, Somei-yoshino has started blooming
東京では、いくつかの早咲きの桜は咲いていましたが、いよいよ真打のソメイヨシノが咲き始めました。
It is just a time for the most popular Sakura, cherry blossom variety Somei-yoshino start blooming in Tokyo.
木全体では、まだ三分から四分咲きくらいでしょうが、枝によっては満開に近いものも。
As a whole, it could be 30-40 % of blooming, but some branches look nearly full blooming.
噴水をバックにしても寒さもなく爽やかな感じです。
The blooming branch with backdrop of a shining fountain looks refreshing but not cold impression.
今日も１日暖かかったので、週末は見ごろになるでしょう。さてどこに花見にいこうか楽しみです。
Today was very good and warm day, and I hope many flower has opened also, so this weekend should be best time for watching. I wonder where should I go for Hanami, picnic for flower watching.
タイには、一番暑い時期の３月～５月頃にピンクの花を咲かせ、日本人からタイ桜と言われているチョンプーパンティップという花がありました。桜を愛する日本人は桜の花が見られない異国では、せめて似た花を見て母国の春を思い出すのでしょう。
In Thailand, where I lived until recently, there is a tree called “Thai Cherry” by Japanese in Bangkok. The tree is called pink trumpet (Chompoo pantip in Thai) and completely different species from cherry but it looks cherry from long distance and blooms in March to May. Since Japanese people loves cherry so much and remember Japanese spring by looking resemble flower.
ただタイでも一番暑い時期で、その下で花見をする人はあまりいませんでしたが。
However in March to May is the hottest season in Bangkok, therefore few people enjoy picnic under the Thai cherry.
