ハノイのバイク/ Motorbikes in Hanoi

ハノイのバイクは圧倒的な迫力。だけど数が多すぎるためか、スピードはかなりゆっくり。車のクラクションに蹴散らされながらもゆっくりと進む。

Motorbikes in Hanoi are overwhelming. However velocity is much slower than in Bangkok perhaps because of too much numbers. They are rambling even always horned by car-drivers.

カラフルタクシー/ Colorful taxis

バンコク市内のタクシーは、赤、黄、緑、紫、ピンク・・・とってもカラフル。一般車がモノトーンなものが多いこともあり、すごく目立つ。ほとんどがメータータクシーなので安心。時々メーターを倒さなかったり、渋滞を理由に高い料金をふっかけてくるタクシーがいるが、そういったタクシーは直ぐに降りて別のタクシーに乗り換えるのが賢明。ちなみに、渋滞時もちゃんとタクシー料金は加算されるので念のため。料金は初乗り35バーツ（２kmまで）あとは２００m毎に2バーツ加算。市内の移動（１０km以内）なら高くても１００バーツ程度。

You can see plenty kind of colors on taxis in Bangkok; red, yellow, green, purple, pink and so on, so on. You can easily distinguish taxis since non-commercial cars in here are almost monotone. Most of all taxis are meter taxis, so you don’t need to worry. However, sometimes some taxi drivers would not turn meter on or request incredible high fees as reason of traffic jam. You should get out from such taxis and change to another one immediately. Taxi meter counts on fees even in traffic jam. Taxi fee is 35 THB within 2 km and adding 2 THB in each 200m. You can go almost all places in downtown Bangkok in 100 THB.

地下鉄切符券売機の長い列/Long cue in front of vender machines

地下鉄（MRT）と高架鉄道（BTS)の乗り換え駅のスクンビット・アソーク駅の地下鉄トークン売り場はラッシュアワーになると長い行列が発生する。人前での争いを好まない性格ゆえか、タイ人はじっと辛抱づよく行例を作ってまっている。同じ仏教徒ゆえの日本人との共通点か？この姿を見るとなぜかほっとする。

In front of vender machines for token in Sukhumvit station of subway (MRT) which is interchange for Asok station of Skytrain (BTS). you can see long long cue, particularly in the evening commune time. Thai people looks patiently waiting along long cue partly because they don't want to fight in public spase, I suppose. I can feel something like relieved from such scene since I can see some common feeling as a Buddhist.

タイ風焼きそば・パッタイ/Fried noodle in Thai style; Pad-thai

屋台でその場で炒めて作ってもらえるパッタイは差し詰めタイ版Ｂ級グルメ。いくつかの麺とトッピングから好きなものを選んで作ってもらう。昼ごはんには少し量はもの足りないが、小腹がすいた時のファーストフードとして最適。カオサン通りにて。

Thai style fried noodle; pad thai is a kind of B-grade gourmet cuisine cooked by street vender. You can choose favorite noodle and toppings in front of you. You can not feel full of stomach as a lunch or dinner but enjoy as an inter-meal fast foods. At a Kaosan street.

歩道/Pavement

バンコクの歩道は立ち並ぶ近代的なホテルやショッピングモールとは対照的にお世辞にも綺麗とはいえない。気をつけて歩かないと、蹴躓いたり、思わぬものに引っかかりするのでご用心。

I can not say pavements in Bangkok are well developed, in contrast to tremendous gorgeous hotel or cutting-edge shopping mall built in recent days. You need to be careful to walk on pavement in Bangkok, or you might be caught by cracks or unexpected materials.

インフルエンザ/Influenza

ここバンコクではインフルエンザが流行り始めているらしい。家族も最近発症した。日本では、気温と湿度が低くなる冬が流行シーズンだが、こちらのウィルスはどうも日本のものよりタフなウイルスらしい。In Japan, influenza season is winter in which temperature and humidity becomes lower. But in here in Bangkok, now it seems beginning of flue season even still temperature and humidity is relatively high. One of my family got it recently. Virus of flue in Bangkok semms much tougher than it in Japan.

エアコン無し路線バス/ Bus without airconditionar

バンコク市内を走るバスは多種多様で路線も複雑。でも大きく分けるとエアコン付とエアコン無し。エアコン無しのバスの利点は、均一低料金で一度料金を払えばどこまででも行けることと車掌さんに行き先を告げなくても良いこと。窓全開で思ったほどは暑くない、でも雨と渋滞は大敵。6，5バーツ＝約15円＝３０セント。
There are many kind of buses running in Bangkok city. But two big categoly are airconditioned and without aircondion. Good point of no aircondion bus is you can go everywhere once you pay unified very low fare. Also you do not need to tell your destination with difficult thai language. When bus runs all windows opened it is not so unconvinient. But once it is captured in trafic jam oor heavy rain, you need consideranbe tolerance. Unified price is THB 6.5, JYB 15 and US$ 0.3.

One of the popular Thai cuisine, best for a lunch. Rice steamed with chicken stock companied with boiled chicken. Dip in spicy source, as you like. 40 THB; 100JPY; 1.3US$ with chicken soup.

バンコクークルンテープ/ Bangkok Krung­thep

バンコクの正式名称はクルンテープマハーナコーン アモーンラッタナコーシン マヒンタラーユッタヤーマハーディロック ポップノッパラット ラーチャターニーブリーロム ウドムラーチャニウェート マハーサターン アモーンピマーン アワターンサティット サッカタッティヤウィッサヌカムプラシット。意味は「イン神（インドラ、帝釈天）がウィッサヌカム神（ヴィシュヌカルマ神）に命じてお作りになった、神が権化としてお住みになる、多くの大宮殿を持ち、九宝のように楽しい王の都、最高・偉大な地、イン神の戦争のない平和な、イン神の不滅の宝石のような、偉大な天使の都」だそうな。タイ人は略してクルンテープ。すなわち天使の都。
Official name of Bangkok is kruŋ theep mahaanakhɔɔn amɔɔnrattanakoosin mahintharaayutthayaa mahaadilok phop noppharat raatchathaanii burii rom udomraatchaniweet mahaasathaan amɔɔn pimaan awataan sathit sakkathattiya witsanukam prasit. Thai pepple call Bangkok as a kruŋ theep. The meaning of kruŋ theep is "City of Angel"

天気雨/rain in sunshine

バンコクの天気雨はすごい。お日様が出ていても容赦なくスコールになる。特に夕方は横から日が差しながら、凄まじい勢いで雨が降る。

In Bangkok, sometime I have heavy rain under sunshine, particuraly in evening.

彩雲 iridescent cloud

バンコクで一番高いバイヨークスカイホテルの展望台から見た彩雲。長年生きてきたが初めての経験。日が暮れる直前のほんの短い間に現れた美しい光景。吉兆と喜ぶが、帰ってネットで調べるとそれほど珍しいものでもないらしい。でもこれがこのブログを立ち上げるきっかけ。
Iridescent cloud from top of Baiyoke sky hotel which is the tallest building in Bangkok. This is the first time for me while I live around fifty years. I was very excited and delighted because I thought it could be fortune foretaste. It is not so supernatural phenomenon by the Wikipedia but it was strong enough impact to start this blog.
